Tefera Mulgeta Abraham is an attorney and counselor at-law since September 2001. He served as a judge at the Federal Supreme and First Instance courts for years before he started private practice. After graduating from Addis Ababa University in Bachelor of Laws in 1996 he was a legal advisor at the Ethiopian Road Authority and worked on trail observation and information project at Inter Africa Group.
Tefera’s reach legal practice includes providing legal advice to varieties of clients on multiple legal issues (some of the prominent clients are Total Ethiopia S.C., former Mobil Oil East Africa Ltd, Libya Oil Ethiopia Ltd, former Shell Ethiopia Ltd, Ethiopian Electronics plc. (ETHELCO), Gaky Engineering plc, Addis Foot Ware Plc, and International Evangelical Church (IEC)). He also handled negotiations and drafting of clients’ business contracts (much of which being dealership agreements of oil companies, Sale Contracts and Credit agreements), collective agreements, memorandum and articles of associations and other legal documents and pertinent correspondences and preparation of clients’ statements of claim, statements of defense, appeals and other pleadings. Handling of clients’ cases (most frequent ones revolving around credit and ownership issues) including undertaking oral litigation in courts, arbitration tribunals and/or governmental organizations on behalf of clients and instigation of amicable settlement of clients’ cases, arbitration of business disputes, and handling of trade name and trade mark registration issues are also part of his achievements.
